#47 Embracing Change: This Too Shall Pass
Hey, itās Rafic.
Welcome back to this weekās edition of Peak Performance Insider.
The winds of change donāt ask for permission.
They just blow.
New roles. New goals. New pressure.
Sometimes itās chaos.
Sometimes itās growth.
Sometimes itās both at once.
Jim Rohn said it best:
āThe same wind blows on us all. The difference is in how we set our sail.ā
You canāt stop change.
But you can learn how to meet it with clarity, presence, and courage.

āļø Deep Dive: This Too Shall Pass
In Vipassana, thereās a powerful story that brings the idea of change into clear focus.
A wise father passes away and leaves behind two gifts for his sons:
A diamond ring for the older son that was beautiful, valuable, admired.
And a plain silver ring for the younger, engraved with the words:
āThis too shall pass.ā
At first, the older son feels like he received the better gift.
But over time, life challenges both brothers.
The older son becomes deeply reactive:
Overwhelmed in hard times. Restless in good ones.
Always trying to hold on or push away.
But the younger son?
He finds balance.
In moments of success, he remembers: This too shall pass.
In moments of pain, he whispers: This too shall pass.
He still feels joy. He still feels pain.
But heās not ruled by either.
Thatās the lesson.
Change is constant.
Your peace comes from how you relate to it.
š What If Change Isnāt the Problem?
What if resistance is?
Change isnāt always comfortable.
But discomfort doesnāt mean danger, it often means growth.
Itās the body stretching.
The identity shifting.
The system evolving.
When you fight change, it breaks you.
When you face it, it shapes you.
š How to Ground Yourself Through Change
Hereās what I come back to when things feel like theyāre shifting fast:
-
Expect the seasons.
Winter always comes. So does spring. Your job isnāt to control the cycle, itās to move with it. -
Anchor into rhythm, not rigidity.
Canāt stick to your full routine? Cool. Pick one anchor habit: walk, write, stretch, pray. Let that be enough. -
Let discomfort teach you.
When you want to numb out or fix everything, pause. Breathe. Ask, what is this showing me? -
Look for the next right move.
You donāt need a five-year plan. Just one clear, honest next step. -
Hold everything lightly.
The wins. The chaos. The confusion.
Because yes, this too shall pass.
ā”ļø Work With Me
If youāre navigating a season of change,
You donāt need more pressure.
You need permission to slow down, recalibrate, and move forward with intention.
Thatās what I help high performers do, especially when everything feels uncertain.

šÆ That's a Wrap
š This weekās reflection:
āThis too shall pass.ā
A reminder in the hard times.
A humbler in the good ones.
And a quiet invitation to stay grounded, no matter whatās changing.
See you next Monday,
ā Rafic Osseiran
