âïž Deep Dive: Youâre Not Stuck - Youâre in Transition
Most people can describe what changed in their life -
âŠbut struggle to explain why they donât feel like themselves.
Maybe itâs:
-
A new role that still feels unfamiliar
-
A new chapter that doesnât feel like âyouâ yet
-
A big decision that left you second-guessing everything
Hereâs the truth:
You can change your situationâŠ
âŠand still not feel settled.
Because change is what happens around you.
Transition is what happens within you.
That friction you feel?
Itâs not failure.
Itâs your identity trying to catch up to your reality.
Youâre not broken.
Youâre becoming.
đ Tools for Navigating Transition
Not everything that feels uncomfortable is a problem.
But not everything thatâs hard is worth pushing through either.
Use these simple tools to make sense of where you are:
đ 1. Friction Filter
Ask:
Is this helpful friction or harmful resistance?
-
Helpful friction: the discomfort of growth, stretching, shedding old layers
-
Harmful resistance: avoidance, burnout, anxiety, self-sabotage
Use your body as a barometer. If itâs energized discomfort â lean in.
If itâs draining, paralyzing, or recurring â pause and reassess.
đș 2. Timeline Tracking
Transitions take longer than expected.
Create a visible timeline - even just on paper or notes app - of:
-
When the change started
-
What small wins youâve already seen
-
What version of you is emerging
This helps you stop judging your progress by the wrong metric.
đ 3. Identity Checkpoints
Every Friday (or Sunday), ask:
-
âWho was I being this week?â
-
âWhat patterns showed up?â
-
âWhat version of me am I proud of?â
-
âWhat version am I ready to release?â
Self-reflection = self-direction.
đŻ 4. Clarify Your North Star
Transitions are easier when you remember what matters.
Pick one word to guide this season.
Write it somewhere you see daily.
Examples: Trust. Patience. Courage. Focus. Grace.
Let it anchor your choices, habits, and self-talk.
đ§ 72-Hour Reset: The AAA Framework
When everything feels like too much, try this reset:
1. Awareness
Ask yourself:
What transition am I really in?
(Think identity, not tasks.)
Examples:
â From contributor â leader
â From hustle â intentionality
â From proving â protecting your peace
2. Acceptance
Say it out loud:
âThis is where I am now. What matters from here?â
Let go of the old narrative.
Donât resist. Donât rush.
3. Action
Choose one aligned move:
â Today
â By Friday
â With a check-in (yourself or someone else)
You donât need the whole map.
Just the next right step.

đŻ That's a Wrap
Change is fast.
Transition is slow - and sacred.
Itâs not about âfixingâ yourself.
Itâs about giving yourself the space to evolve.
So if the old version of you doesnât quite fit anymoreâŠ
Good. Itâs working.
Keep going.
Until next time,
â Rafic Osseiran
